An update - the kitchen, the garden, and three (mostly) food-related snippets I’ve discovered.
The fire has been on most mornings, to take the chill from the air. The overnight temperatures have dropped, although the days are still pleasantly warm - well mostly! There is the occasional day where the maximum barely makes it out of the teens, a reminder of what’s to come. We’re quite desperate for rain, it’s been dry. The ground is brown and cracked and the garden needs watering regularly, which is usually not necessary. The wildlife, mostly the wallabies have been venturing further into gardens and eating plants they normally wouldn’t bother with. Without a fence there isn’t much that is safe. Winter is when we receive most of our rain so while the cold weather isn’t necessarily welcome, the rain definitely is.
