Like a significant portion of the world, Cam and Ally Skeels discovered sourdough baking during the pandemic lockdown. Unlike many of those people, once the pandemic had passed and life became too busy again to keep a starter alive, the Skeels had well and truly caught the bug. They had, however, moved on from bread and had perfected a sourdough crumpet.
Cam and Ally are recent arrivals to Tasmania. Well, Cam has moved back to the place of his childhood, but he hasn’t lived in Tasmania for over 30 years, so things have changed a little. They found an old house in Glen Huon and moved in in late 2019. A few months later, stuck at home, they began experimenting.
