I loved learning about the history of our market here in Hobart, thanks Julie. I love a good gun and tonic, and supporting local artisans in using Produce that might otherwise be thrown away. So many wonderful companies experimenting. I canโ€™t wait to try your cake, might be a good activity on a rainy Sunday ๐ŸŽ‚

It always amazes me how innovative people are. And cake baking on a Sunday sounds like a great way to spend the day.

Very creative way to think about spirits. Have to admit that I have no experience using gin, though I so love a great G&T!!

I made sloe gin when I.lived in Germany and could pick the berries on my walks. Now that I'm back in the US, I make my gin and tonic with a sprig of lemon thyme. And agreed on the types of grapefruit!

I love sloe gin also - itโ€™s quite popular in Tasmania. I sometimes add a splash to rhubarb when I roast it.

This cake sounds delicious and I loved learning the background and history of the distilleries. That market is huge, wow! Really enjoyed this, Julia.

Thank you Jolene. It is a huge market and take some fortitude to get around, but there are some interesting treasures amongst it.

I've never baked with gin. Might give it a try!

It's not the first spirit that comes to mind when baking, but with some things it works surprisingly well.
